The University of Missouri, Department of Surgery, is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Division of Vascular Surgery on the non-tenure track or tenure/tenure track. The Division currently has five faculty members, a clinical nurse specialist, a nurse practitioner, a physician assistant, and a 3-person fellowship with responsibilities at the University Hospitals & Clinics and the Harry S. Truman Memorial VA Hospital which is adjacent to our campus. The clinical experience includes advanced open and endovascular techniques including cutting edge catheter-based techniques and a myriad of complex open procedures. Facilities and resources include a fully functional and well-equipped Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, state of the art Hybrid Rooms, and a dedicated operating room staff.
The Division of Vascular Surgery is the only tertiary academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center in the middle of the state and faculty are actively involved in the training of medical students, residents, and fellows. Candidates will be evaluated on an interest in an academic practice and the potential for educational positions including Program Director. An interest in research will be strongly considered as the Division has an active Outcomes Research Program which involves the residents, fellows, and faculty.
Candidates will be evaluated on additional attributes considered important to this position including having proven leadership qualities, exceptional surgical technique, and strong interests in supporting resident/medical student education.
