WHAT IS SURYA KRIYA?
Surya Kriya is a potent 21-step yogic practice, designed as a holistic process for health, wellness and complete inner wellbeing. Surya Kriya is a complete spiritual process by itself. Traditionally available only to select groups of yogis.
Surya Kriya is being offered by Sadhguru as a comprehensive spiritual practice that is ideal for the hectic pace of today’s world.
“Surya” means “sun,” and “kriya” means “inner energy process.” Surya Kriya activates the solar plexus to raise the samat prana, or solar heat, in the system. It also balances a person’s left and right energy channels, leading to stability of the body and stillness of the mind. This strong foundation becomes the basis to explore higher dimensions of life.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SURYA KRIYA & SURYA NAMASKAR?
Up until now, only Surya Namaskar was offered publicly offered. When those who knew the practice saw a need to to help the masses, they could not offer Surya Kriya in its most potent form so they taught Surya Namaskar (sun salutation) which has less potency spiritually but can still offer other benefits such as balancing the system. Surya Kriya was always the fundamental ‘Sun’ process and all other practices were derived from Surya Kriya. The Surya Namaskar has more impact on the physical body at the same time will have a basic impact on the energy system. Surya Kriya powerfully impacts the energy system and is suited more for those who want a strong spiritual process within a physical Hatha Yoga practice.
